Bucolic Bliss: Christy & Greg’s Countryside Wedding

A gorgeous day, an adoring couple and rolling green meadows that spread out as far as the eye can see, what more can wedding goers ask for?  It was our pleasure to film Christy and Greg’s August wedding at Sunset Crest Manor in Chantilly, VA.  Together with photographer Amber Wilkie, I think we captured their fun day true to form.  I love to showcase how photo and video capture an event, so that prospective couples can see just how different and comprehensive having both photo and video coverage of their day can be.  In that spirit, I hope you enjoy perusing Amber’s gorgeous images and watching the fun video montages we created here at Dolce.  Congrats to the happy couple!

Lindsay & Charles: A Spring Wedding at Sixth & I Synagogue and Hotel Monaco (incl. video)

We always love working with Sara Bauleke of Bella Notte and Bill and Anne of Holland Photo Arts, but to add to the sweetness, it can’t get any better than a perfect spring day, a glowing couple, gorgeous ceremony location and fabulous downtown hotel oozing with style and sophistication.  If you didn’t think Youthful Cheer could mix with Downtown Flair, think again!  These stunning photos and video highlight reel showcase just that, and also show you what a great compliment photo and video can be for any happy couple.  Congrats to the stars of this show, Lindsay & Charles, mazel tov!

Farm Fresh Wedding: Leslie & Sean

Every once in a while, a wedding charms you and blows your mind away.  You fall in love with the couple, you like everything about their choices, their personalities, their family and friends.  You feel a connection that is awkward when you see them again: you act like you’re seeing your long lost friends and they don’t recognize you.  Embarrassing!  😉  Anypoos, all of us at Dolce feel this way about Leslie & Shawn, who married last May. We hope you enjoy watching these samples from their film and that this spring wedding on a farm, loaded with personal details, inspires you while you plan your own wedding!

and while that was fun as an intro – here’s the finale highlight reel (which recaps the whole day from start to finish and includes some of the footage you saw above, and many new shots too).  I couldn’t decide which to post, what can I say?!

Kate & Josh: A Wedding at Congressional Country Club

We have been shooting at Congressional Country Club for many years and always love working there!   Aside from hosting three U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship, the gorgeous facilities and sprawling grounds have also embraced many a couple for whom we filmed their special day.   It’s an honor for us to film at a site that has seen many of our nation’s most distinguished politicians discuss policy on its fairways and greens since it was first opened in 1924.  On Kate & Josh’s big day this past June 25, we captured the event together with Andrea Jacobson from The Observatory.   We love working with Andrea and her team and we highly recommend T.O. to prospective couples!  Please enjoy a glimpse of this special site and sweet couple in these photos Andrea has shared with us.

Jennifer & Bill at Lansdowne Resort

Frosty March weather warmed by love!  We had the most wonderful time capturing Jennifer and Bill’s wedding at Lansdowne this past winter.  Amie Otto, photographer extraordinaire, shared her lovely images with us and we, in turn, share them with you.  If you scroll down past the photo slideshow, you can also view one of the  montages from the film we created for them.  They chose our Vintage Solitaire package (1 camera, 5 hours).  Congrats to Jennifer & Bill!

A Dolce Real Wedding: Cynthia & Andrew

This montage turned our super nostalgic for 2 reasons: 1) the bride chose Stand By Me for the music and 2) she’s getting ready at her family home and in her childhood bedroom.  I love this!  My fave shots include her toes as she’s putting her dress on, and the peek-a-boo shot of her at her bedroom window.

Wedding Gowns Fit for Us All: Not a size 0? Check out Curvaceous Couture!

I was meeting with a lovely bride this week who gave me what Oprah would call an “Aha” moment.  Like any bride, she’s excited and looking forward to all the special things her Big Day will bring.  I asked her if she had her dress yet and her face lit up, her resounding “yes” filling my office.  This is something I love to see, but it was followed by a somewhat troubling story.  The search for her perfect dress was something of an ordeal, not because she’s picky, but because she simply couldn’t find any options.  She had been to many, many boutiques and wasn’t able to get most of the rack samples over her hips.  Now, let me preface this by saying that this bride is pretty darned average-size.  One afternoon after hitting a circuit of dress shops, she burst into tears and was at the end of her…well, dress.  That’s when her sister-in-law took her to a very special place where she obtained the aforementioned perfect dress.    If you’re looking for a wedding gown and you aren’t a size 0, 2, 4 or 6….check out Curvaceous Couture in Columbia, MD.  Loaded with tons of dresses to choose from and including all the major labels (Enzoani, Pronovias, Reem Acra, etc.) and boasting sample sizes for regular sized women and up, you’ll find yourself feeling so great that the only tears will be on your mother’s face when you put on that perfect dress for the first time!  At first glance, you won’t think you’re in the right place – it’s in an industrial park.  But beyond the facade, everything inside is warm, welcoming and dreamy.  Happy shopping!

Say Yes to an Eco-Dress! Video editorial of Chris Kole’s new Fireflies collection for The Cotton Bride.

If you’re into dresses, fashion or anything Green, this is something you won’t want to miss!   Check out the newest organic gowns, as shown at Eco-Beautiful Weddings magazine’s anniversary party in DC a few weeks ago. I used my point-and-shoot camera in video mode, so please don’t judge the video quality as representative of one of our wedding films. 🙂  If it’s not playing for you, click on the HD icon in the upper right of the video.
